Butane powered Jet Engine

At night the Jet engine glows orange red. And operating above 2000° farenheit. In day time the glow is not visible. Engine is air cooled. Built of composite materials to withstand high temperature. Takes let's fuel and more air when dynamic.

TESTING AND CALIBRATING BUTANE FUELLED JET ENGINE.

The ground test stand serves as a sophisticated audio-visual and diagnostic platform designed to study, monitor, and analyze the performance of a jet engine mounted on it. It enables precise calibration of critical engine parameters such as nozzle pressure, fuel–air ratio, fuel consumption, air intake rate, engine pressure distribution, and combustion chamber pressure. The system also supports fine-tuning of tailpipe resonance, and provides accurate measurement of thrust, exhaust enthalpy, and key thermodynamic properties of the fuel exhaust stream—giving engineers a comprehensive understanding of engine behaviour under varying operating conditions.

During nighttime testing, the jet engine’s outer shell emits a vivid orange-red glow, indicating operational temperatures approaching 2000 °F. This visual cue serves as an immediate real-time indicator of thermal loading, helping engineers monitor structural and thermal performance without relying solely on instrumentation.

Beyond performance analysis, the ground test stand plays a central role in diagnosing and correcting operational anomalies. It allows engineers to identify inefficiencies, mechanical faults, vibrational issues, or thermal irregularities early, ensuring both optimal performance and operational safety. Both the jet engine and the advanced ground test stand were meticulously engineered and built by Regnault Bamiji, reflecting a deep level of innovation, technical expertise, and mastery of aerospace engineering principles.

Relevance and Benefits to Universities, Polytechnics and Technical schools:

The ground test stand offers significant educational and research value to higher institutions, including universities and polytechnics, in several ways:

1. Hands-On Training for Engineering Students

Students in mechanical, aerospace, mechatronics, and automotive engineering can gain real-world experience working with functional jet engine systems—something rarely available locally. This enhances practical skills and bridges the gap between theory and real engineering applications.

2. Research and Innovation Platform

It provides a testbed for advanced research in thermodynamics, propulsion, combustion science, fluid dynamics, material behavior at high temperature, and engine noise control. Students and lecturers can carry out experiments that strengthen academic research output and foster innovation.

3. Capacity Building for Technical Education

Polytechnics can use the platform for technician and technologist training, equipping students with hands-on skills in instrumentation, calibration, diagnostics, machine fabrication, and system troubleshooting.

4. Collaboration and Industry Partnerships

The test stand can serve as a central hub for collaboration between institutions and industries developing drones, gas turbines, power generation systems, and aviation technologies—opening new opportunities for research grants and industrial partnerships.

5. Curriculum Enhancement

With access to real engine test data, lecturers can enrich classroom teaching with live demonstrations, simulations, and laboratory sessions, improving the quality of STEM education.

6. Stimulating Local Aerospace Development

By enabling indigenous testing and engine analysis, universities can contribute to Nigeria’s growing interest in aerospace research, local manufacturing, and defence technologies—building technical capability within the country.

Jet Engine construction Plan

Amazing small Jet engine. This jet engine is a combinations of Ram-jet and Pulse-jet engines. It is a butane powered Jet engine you can use for small airplane, jet helicopters and other projects. Follow the simple step by step instruction on the construction plan, and within weeks you have your completed jet engine for your projects. Simple available materials are readily available to easily assembly this jet engine. See the Jet Engine mounted at the tip of rotor blade of the Jet helicopter  in the picture below, Mounted also on Jet engine test stand (Audio-Visual Device) to study the operations, thermodynamics and principles of the jet engines.
